Add salt and pepper to your liking.
Place a lid on the pot and cook on low heat for 6-7 hours, or until the turkey is soft and completely cooked.
After cooking, allow the turkey to sit for a few minutes before cutting it.

To give it some extra flavor, you can sprinkle a little bit of cayenne pepper into the maple syrup mix. If you like a saltier taste, you can add a spoonful of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce.
