About Soup:
- 5 big onions, cut into thin slices 🧅
- 3 tablespoons of butter without salt 🧈
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped 🧄
- 6 cups of beef broth (you can also use chicken or vegetable broth!)
- 1/2 cup of white wine (if desired)
- 2 leaves from the bay tree
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- Add salt and black pepper according to your taste 🧂
For the topping:
- 4 pieces of hard bread (baguette works great!)
- 1 cup of shredded Gruyère cheese (or mix with Swiss cheese) 🧀
- 2 tablespoons of shredded Parmesan cheese 🧀
- Fresh parsley, finely chopped to sprinkle on top.
