List of ingredients:
4 big onions, cut into thin slices.
3 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of olive oil
4 pieces of garlic, finely chopped
1 small spoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of regular flour
6 cups of beef broth, or if you prefer, vegetable broth.
1 cup of white wine (you can skip it, but it makes the flavor better)
1 leaf from the bay tree
Add salt and black pepper according to your preference.
1 long bread roll, cut into slices and lightly cooked.
1 and a half cups of grated Gruyère cheese
