Getting rid of rats on your own.

4. Baking soda can help keep rats away from places they like to be. Combine 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar or powdered chocolate, and 1 cup of baking soda.

The sugar or chocolate will lure the rats, and the baking soda will eliminate them after they eat it. Put some bait in jars and place them in areas where you think there might be pests.

5. Peppermint essential oil: The great thing is that it has a lovely scent. We just need to put a few drops of peppermint oil on cotton balls and place them in the areas where we think rats might be.

We should change the cotton balls every 5-7 days, depending on how much oil we use. We can also use citronella and castor oil, or plant mint around our home's perimeter.

6. Cleaning spray.

Kill cockroaches by using a mix of water and soap. This technique works very well for getting rid of German cockroaches and crickets. To use, mix 4 tablespoons of liquid soap with 4 cups of water. Spray where cockroaches hide whenever necessary.

7. A type of tree called neem.

This plant stops cockroaches from reproducing. It slows down the reproduction rate and decreases the amount of eggs that can be fertilized. Crush a few neem leaves to create a paste. Place the leaves in 4 cups of water and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray in corners, small openings, and moist places.

8. Inexpensive wine spray.

This affordable bug spray will kill cockroaches in less than a day. Just pour the wine into a spray bottle and spray it in areas where you have seen cockroaches.

9. A plant known for its strong smell and flavor.

Mash garlic and put it in a water bottle for a couple of hours.

Spray garlic in all corners of your house. The strong smell will make insects go away.

Tea bags keep away rats, spiders, and bugs.

If rats and spiders are coming to your place often, using your used teabags can help solve this issue. Small animals like mice, bugs, and spiders do not like the scent of tea and will stay away from areas where you place tea bags.

Just throw the teabag in the trash, and they won't come back.
